Happy, happy Thursday to you.

Hello Hedgehogs and Hedgehog parents,

I hope you are all well and have been getting out and about as much as possible. Either side of making videos and replying to emails, I've been going to see Sam the pony. He's fluffy and quite muddy.

I am still very impressed with all the learning you've been doing at home. Give yourselves a pat on the back and a round of applause  :0)

Here is today's learning.

Reception Phonics

Parents, there is quite a lot to this session! Please feel free to break it up, or miss one of the games out today. I will leave it to your judgement.

As usual, please send me some notes on how your child gets on, and a photo or two if you can.

Year One Spellings

A bit of phonics and a bit of spellings for you today Year One!

Please send me photos of your work and tell me how you get on.

Reception AND Year One Maths

Year One - please complete the whole lesson (break it into shorter chunks if you like). Reception children, the video will let you know when you have finished your part. That way, any super keen Reception children can have a look at the Year One part too (this is very much optional).

Important clarification!
For the activity where children are arranging 5 carrots on a plate, the carrots need to be in adjacent cells (so, joining on to one another) to make the arrangements. Otherwise, Year 1, you'll be here for ever!

Reception writing:
Today, please just do some fine motor activities to build up your finger strength. You could:

* do some threading
* do some pegging
* pick up objects with tweezers, if you have any
* do some careful cutting
* make some playdough and do lots of kneading, squashing, pinching and squeezing!

Year One Super Sentence Writing:

In your phonics/spelling lesson you looked at adding 'ing' to a verb. Your challenge today is to include a verb (or some verbs) with -ing endings in your sentence.

As always, dear Hedgehogs, I look forward to seeing your work!

From Miss Nash

Goodbye!

Dear Hedgehog Parents, It feels very strange finally to be saying goodbye to you all. Whaddon has been my second home for the past ten years...
