Wednesday 27th January

Greetings Hedgehogs, one and all.

It is Wednesday! The weeks are going by so quickly and they are all sort of muddling in to each other, so here we are on another Wednesday. I have so enjoyed your work this week, especially your whale work. I've been learning all sorts of things about blue whales. Did you know that a blue whale's heart is the size of a small car?! They are incredible.

Today, I am on some online training from about 11am until the end of the day. However, Miss Cartwright will be helping me out by checking emails, so please do get in touch as usual if there is something we can help you with.

Tomorrow we are going to do some storytelling! This is not compulsory at all, but it will be a very lovely way to catch up with each other and to enjoy some storytelling. The Zoom details will be parentmailed out to you soon.

Reception: 2pm on Thursday

Year 1: 2.30pm on Thursday

Onwards and upwards to today's learning!

Here is the ongoing checklist of jobs for you.

Job 1: Chapter 12 of our story

Job 2: Phonics

Reception phonics:

Bingo boards

Year 1 phonics:

Adjectives sheet

Job 3: Tiny Tim

Teach your grown-ups our Tiny Tim rhyme. I've made this Job 3, because learning to say rhymes and poems in a clear voice is a Very Good Skill.

Here are the words.... can you remember the actions?

I had a little frog
His name was Tiny Tim
I put him in the bath tub
To teach him how to swim.

He guzzled down the water
He gobbled up the soap
And when he tried to talk
He had a bubble in his throat...

Ribbit!

(this is one of my favourites!)

Wishing you the very happiest of Wednesdays,

from Miss Nash

Goodbye!

Dear Hedgehog Parents, It feels very strange finally to be saying goodbye to you all. Whaddon has been my second home for the past ten years...
