Friday Fun for the 15th May

Friday greetings to you Hedgehogs!

I hope you have been having a good week. Here is a poem for you about how all of the days muddle into each other:

What is the day today?
I really couldn't say.
Is it the weekend?
No, not quite.
Monday? Wednesday?
That doesn't sound right!

I really think,
yes - it must be -

Friday, I'm sure.
It's Friday - yippee!

This weekend, you can enjoy Mrs McKee's next music lessons and singalong:

Reception Lesson 4
Year 1 and 2 Lesson 4
Singalong 4

Wonderful Wednesday the 13th May.

Hello Hedgehogs,

It is another Wednesday. I hope you are all having a good week.

My mum sent me a photo I thought you'd be interested in. She
was out for a walk with her dog when her dog spotted something high up. Mum look up and there she saw...

a pink unicorn on a wall.

How did it get there?
Why is it there?
Did it climb there itself?
Does it live there?

What is its name?

We may never know, but it's an interesting mystery.

Here are a few ideas for you this week. Just so you know, Hedgehogs, you're doing a marvellous job.

I'll see you here for your next blog on Friday!

I miss you, dear Hedgehogs.

Winston: Innocent or Guilty? Chapters 7, 8 and 9.

Hello Hedgehogs, and welcome to another week!

I hope you all had a great weekend. I enjoyed hearing what you
got up to to celebrate V.E. day. I had afternoon tea. It was
delicious and scrumptious. I have also been reading quite a lot.
I love books.

Anyway... you were all very helpful last week with your Fairy Tale Fixer work. I have to say, I particularly enjoyed seeing all of the cupcakes designs and cupcakes you made for the pigs. Looking at them all made me hungry.

Here is some of your wonderful work...

And now, dear Fairy Tale Fixers... the story continues.

Preparing for VE Day: Wednesday 6th March

Good morning Hedgehogs and Happy Wednesday.

Friday is a very special day. It is the 75th anniversary of V.E. day -  V.E. stands for Victory in Europe. It celebrates the end of World War 2, which was 6 years long.

On the first V.E. day, on 8th May 1945, everyone in the UK had street parties and celebrations. They were so relieved the fighting was over and that the soldiers, pilots and sailors could finally come home.

In London the streets were crowded and the Royal Family and the Prime Minister waved to people from Buckingham Palace.

On Friday, people all over the UK will be celebrating again to mark 75 years since the end of the war.

You can find out a bit more here.

Today's blog is full of ideas to help you to celebrate V.E. day and learn a bit about life in the 1940s.

There are some more photos here.

Swing Dancing
The Charleston
Lindy Hop

A 1940s playlist
Some wartime songs with lyrics.

I hope you enjoy learning about V.E. day and please send us photographs of anything you do to celebrate!
