Marvellous Monday: June 8th

Happy Monday to all you Hedgehogs out there.

Did you have a storm at the weekend? There was a storm over here in Brackley and I loved it. Thunder is one of my favourite things. I was inside, which helped. Then I decided that the day had rained enough, so Komet and I went for a ride: but I was wrong - we got very wet. Komet wasn't impressed but I think it cleaned him a bit.

You've been doing a great job of our new story! I've enjoyed seeing your work and well done for getting it all done: there was more to do than usual. I've put some of your work here.

Here are Monday's activities:

All at Sea, Chapter 5:

As usual, the story chapter is compulsory and the phonics session is highly recommended.

Have a good Monday Hedgehogs!

See you tomorrow.

You've been doing such a good job that I think I'm going to send your marble jars home next weekend again, so you can see how hard you've been working.

Wednesday 3rd June

Good morning, one and all.

It is, of course Wednesday, wonderful Wednesday. Yesterday at school we enjoyed reading the story chapter, drew ourselves as pirates and created a colourful parrot. We also played a fun game: I gave the children words to read, and they had to read it secretly and make the word from play dough. It was a lot of fun; we'd recommend it!

Here is today's learning:

... and at school, if we find time, we will be timing ourselves running around the field.

Hedgehogs at home, please complete the story chapter as your must-do task. It would be good if you could try out the maths game too!

See you tomorrow for a Thursday!

Tuesday 2nd June

Happy Tuesday Hedgehogs!

I hope Monday went well for you and that Tuesday is just as good. The children in school had a good day! I was very pleased to see them. It was a bit strange for us all though, but we'll get used to it. I think the strangest thing was staying far away from each other! We usually all sit on the carpet together or play games in a circle. However, we could still have fun which is the main thing :0)

Here is today's learning:

The Clever Quiz (a phonics game):

A Chalk Walk:

Hedgehogs at home, please complete the story chapter as your must-do task. This might take you some time, but please also aim to play the phonics game as well at some point.

I've never played 'Chalk Walk' before - I'm looking forward to playing it with the children in school!
